On Thursday 25 October 2018, Seedstars World made a pit stop in Bahraini incubator, Corporate Hub 9 in the Lagoon, Amwaj, to commence their search for some of the best startups in the world. And during the Manama Chapter of their pursuit, they crowned a winner who will receive the chance to fly to Switzerland and compete for $1 million in investment.

The event was held in collaboration of Tamkeen Bahrain, Corporate Hub 9,  Arab Net Middle East, Startup Scene Middle East, Flat6Labs Bahrain and the Bahrain Development Bank, featured 10 different entrepreneurs pitching their startups to a panel of esteemed judges, with several networking opportunities and a panel discussion regarding raising funds in the Middle East and North Africa while the judges deliberated upon the decision of who the winner should be.

The energetic crew of Seedstars world kept the audience excited and entertained throughout the event, with those at Corporate Hub 9 supporting them all throughout, and by the time the top honors of the night were revealed, they did so in descending order for all three positions.

Bahraini online marketplace, eNaseej, received the accolade, the tech startup promises to   “help you stitch your best shopping experience” and plans to do so in a timely fashion.

  • 2nd Place Winner of Seedstars World, Manama Chapter

As per the runner-up, the award went to Eshipsol, an e-commerce startup that integrates technology with logistics. Additionally, Eshipsol operates with “flexible delivery options and transparent pricing supported by real-time tracking” in mind.

  • 1st Place Winner of Seedstars World, Manama Chapter

The winner of Seedstars World, the Manama Chapter was Temr.cm! The Total Electronic Medical Records and Clinic Management startup regards itself as being the Kingdom of Bahrain’s “first cloud-based, total EMR & Clinic Management solution for small to medium-sized health providers,” and is part of the Flat6Labs Bahrain accelerator program.

StartUp Bahrain spoke to one of the Co-Founders, Ebrahim Al-Qassab, who spoke on behalf of the team when he said that they are “really glad to have won the competition, and get a really cool trip to Switzerland as well as a chance to increase our (temr.cm) exposure” in reference to the stage the will provide them access to an international catalog of investors.

Lastly, Ebrahim added that he was very grateful for the opportunity to participate, highlighting the vital role that the organizers (SeedStars World, Corporate Hub 9, Bahrain EDB, Tamkeen) played, and the accelerator they were enrolled in, Flat6Labs Bahrain, when it comes to achieving this feat, ending with a message to the StartUp Bahrain audience in which he asks them to “wish them all the best” in their journey to the SeedStars World stage.
