Your Company Registration (CR) in Bahrain remains valid for one year, meaning you have to renew it annually. Don’t worry though, it’s a pretty straight forward process and can be done online using the Sijilat platform.

In case you have no prior exposure to Sijilat, it’s the official Commercial Registration portal operated by Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism (MoICT). You should definitely check out this article that outlines how and why should you use Sijilat while starting a business in Bahrain.

Now, coming back to the moot point, if you already have a CR and thinking of renewing it, here’s how you do it in 5 simple steps.

Using Sijilat to renew your CR

First and foremost — you do not necessarily have to wait until the last moment for renewing your CR. As per the guidelines set by the MoICT, you can submit your renewal applications 3 months prior to the expiration date.

First of all, you need to sign in on Sijilat in order to access its various services including CR renewal. To be able to sign in as the proprietor or partner of your organization, you must have your eKey handy.

In case you don’t currently have your eKey, you can easily grab hold of one by simply visiting a local e-government center near you. The process will hardly take a few minutes.

Once you obtain your eKey, simply visit sijilat.bh and sign in using your credentials as prompted on-screen. Once inside, you have to follow these five simple steps:

  1. Step 1: Select the “Public Services” menu.
  2. Step 2: Select Renewal.
  3. Step 3: Type your existing CR number without the branch number and then click “Search.”
  4. Step 4: Select the branch from the options available and then click “Save and Continue.”
  5. Step 5: Upload the necessary documents and then “Click Save and Continue.”

You might want to review the information you’ve just provided to avoid any future mishaps or confusion. Finally, just select your preferred language for SMS and then click “Submit” and that’s it, you’re done.
