Tick tock says the clock, as each day passes and brings us closer to Bahrain’s second annual technology week (#TechWeekBH)! An all encompassing series of events, workshops, panel discussions, expositions and pitching competitions that aim to nourish the startup community and tech-enthusiasts alike.

This year, TechWeek spans a period of 9 days! Commencing on September 30, 2018 to October 8, 2018 with highlights including the Amazon Web Services Summit, MIT Innovation Forum, Runway To Web Summit, along with many more exciting events you can learn more about here.

One of the highlights for StartUp Bahrain during TechWeek, would most definitely be the outstanding number of renowned speakers present, ranging from entrepreneurs and business professionals all the way to generally inspiring individuals!

And, while we would love nothing more than to include everyone on our list, we had to select the five we are looking forward to the most, and here they are in no specific order.

Teresa Carlson, Vice President, Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services:

AWS Summit, Bahrain, WEPOWER

Teresa Carlson is set to appear in multiple events this year, sharing her insights and expertise in the world of technology and cloud computing. Teresa has been known for her progressive train of thought that is surely to be said with her silver tongue and unmistakably southern accent.

Kubilay Devrim Ekmekci, Vice President of Sales, Krontech

Event :MIT Innovation ForumKubilay Ekmekci has almost two decades worth of knowledge and experience in several industries, having occupied a diverse amount of managerial roles in Telecommunication, Software development and Retail. He is also known for his energetic and extroverted personality that is driven by the thought of a challenge.

Oli Harris, Head of Crypto-Assets Strategy & Quorum, J.P. Morgan

Oli Harris may be one of the younger speakers during Bahrain Tech Week, but don’t let that fool you, with an extensive background in areas such as strategy, innovation and emerging technology, Oli has the knowledge and stage presence to rival most of his peers.

Amal Dokhan, Director of the Babson Global Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, Babson College

Event: MIT Innovation Forum

Amal Dokhan is a true believer when it comes to providing creative and innovative business solutions, as well as her dedication to inspire those with entrepreneurial dreams to work hard towards achieving their goals. Having mastered the “skills for disruptive innovation”, Amal is sure to push the mental boundaries of her audience.

Matthew Van Niekerk– Co-founder & CEO at SettleMint and the CEO of DataBroker DAO Event: BBKEMTECH

Matthew Van Neikerk is a blockchain technology enthusiast, who managed to turned his passion into a business, with a knowledge base that extends from business development, all the way to entrepreneurship in lines of blockchain based applications as well as IoT (Internet of Things).
