The ArabNet Digital Summit, the largest event dedicated to digital businesses in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), made a grand comeback on Monday, April 30, 2018, for its sixth edition.

As expected, anticipation was skyrocketing as the event went live at Madinat Jumeirah Conference and Events Center in Dubai. The two-day event was backed by many prominent brands including the likes of OMD, Du, Gulf Capital, IDAL, Emirates NBD, and more.

Not only that, StartUp Bahrain, a community initiative powered by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), that focuses on bringing together startups, investors, accelerators, mentors and more under one roof was also amongst the attendees.

The significance of ArabNet Digital can be gauged from the fact that more than 1,800 attendees, 75 exhibitors, 115 speakers, and more than 100 investors from all over MENA and beyond flocked to the city to be a part of the summit.

Like the previous five editions, ArabNet Digital 6.0 also focused on the latest digital trends in the UAE, as well as the opportunities they bring along.

“As the digital market in MENA continues to expand and evolve from a trend to a fundamental part of business strategies, industry leaders are looking for specialized knowledge and connections to stay ahead. And therefore, ArabNet conference offers a holistic experience that caters to the diverse audience of business professionals,” said Omar Christidis, Founder, and CEO of ArabNet, in his opening speech.

There was another separate forum on the sidelines of the summit where government and industry leaders participated to discuss the various aspects of digital collaboration among different agencies and institutions in the region. Dubbed the Digital Policy Forum, this invitation-only forum also saw one-on-one meetings aimed at building the framework for meaningful bilateral government’s collaborations on the digital front.
