School of ICT & Web Media, a wing of Bahrain Polytechnic, hosted the 10th edition of the ICT & Web Media Project Exhibition earlier this month.

The event saw senior students in the institute demonstrating over 50 projects that included innovative mobile applications, cloud-based solutions, virtual reality, system infrastructure, and more.

All projects were developed either at Bahrain Polytechnic Multimedia Lab, Bahrain Polytechnic Innovation Lab, or Cooperative Learning Project (CLP) at Industry Partners.

The exhibition kicked off on a high note with a tour around the projects, followed by the participating students getting a chance to pitch their final products. The tour was led by Dr. Jeff Zabudsky, Chief Executive of Bahrain Polytechnic, and Dr. James Egan, Head of School ICT & Media, alongside the exhibition partners including Sumaya Adel from Batelco; Ahmed Al Hujairy CEO of Gulf Future Business; Pakiza Abdulrahman Manager at Bahrain EDB; and Feras Al Saadi – NGN International-Training Center, and representatives from Tamkeen.

In his speech during the inauguration, Dr. Zabudsky thanked the industry partners and evaluators for their contributions in the development of the Polytechnic and its students. The event also saw an intense and informative debate on ‘Capstone Projects’ Intellectual Property presented and participated by Dr. Hanan Al Mawla, Director Legal Clinic at University of Bahrain and Raghda Zahran, Programme Manager (MIS) at Bahrain Polytechnic.

“The students have demonstrated outstanding work throughout the semester. Their skills, initiatives, and motivation have coined innovative solutions which solve business problems. The society serves as an infrastructure for knowledge development as much as the Polytechnic serves as an infrastructure for skilled caliber,” said Raghda as a token of appreciation for the hardworking students who drove the event’s success.

The students whose projects were voted the best by the judges received various rewards including professional certification programs by the Polytechnic and its exhibition partners, as well as guaranteed placement.
