The second edition of FinTech Abu Dhabi Summit is just around the corner, and it hopes to be bigger and better than the inaugural edition that saw a whopping 3,000 local and global registrations.

An initiative of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the FinTech Abu Dhabi summit 2018 will span over two days starting Sep 17, 2018 at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel. The event will comprise a series of activities including keynotes from world-class speakers, networking events where investors and entrepreneurs can meet and form new alliances, as well as panel discussions focused on a varied range of topics such as the future of FinTech in the region and the challenges that lay ahead of it.

“Innovation, including FinTech and digital transformation, is part of ADGM’s DNA. It influences and shapes our service offerings and regulatory framework. As an ecosystem developer, we aim to support Abu Dhabi’s FinTech hub,” said Richard Teng, CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of ADGM. Teng further stated that the forthcoming edition of the event would primarily focus on innovation adoption. Per this approach, ADGM corporate allies will collaborate closely with regional and international FinTech firms to find practical solutions with the ability to introduce landmark changes in the realms of financial services.

Additionally, it also aspires to deliver a platform where regional regulators share a common stage to discuss burning issues and craft a coordinated approach to address urgent matters affecting the market. The ADGM boss promised: “Financial services providers and innovators can explore and introduce transformational changes, enabling them to re-engineer their business models. […]We look forward to supporting innovation in the local and global community to create sustainable growth.”
