Mumzworld, a Dubai based eCommerce platform dedicated to mothers and children, has raised its fifth and largest round of funding to date.

The money raised via this new funding round will help the company with its regional expansion plan. Founded in 2011 by successful entrepreneurs Leena Khalil and Mona Ataya, Mumzworld currently operates across MENA region. It also handles on-demand shipping to the rest of the world.

The new round of funding was led by Wamda and Swicorp. While Wamda is one of the leading investors in the region’s startup ecosystem, Swicorp prides itself as an independent investment firm with a focus on emerging businesses in MENA.

Khaled Talhouni, Partner at Wamda, said: “We are very excited to be co-leading this latest round of investment at Mumzworld as part of our strategy to continuously back exponential growth companies through multiple rounds of financing. As the company continues to dominate this vertical space for mother and child, Wamda investment is a natural byproduct.”

As of today, Mumzworld has ties with more than 2,700 brands, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers locally and globally. The website offers well over 200,000 products, out of which 20,000 are exclusively available on Mumzworld.com only.

Mumzworld is optimistic that the fund raised in the fifth round will substantially add to its growth trajectory as the company aims to strengthen its presence in key markets within the Arab world and beyond.
