In a major boost for its growth plans, Shieldfy, a cybersecurity startup based in Egypt, has raised an undisclosed amount in pre-seed investment from Kuwait’s Arzan Venture Capital.

Shieldfy protects web applications in real-time using a smart firewall and accompanying security infrastructure. It can be incorporated into any digital applications as a software development kit (SDK) which, upon installation, activates itself prior to the code and deploys its cybersecurity tools. It is designed to monitor, detect, and block any malicious activity before it can affect the application.

Additionally, Shieldfy also underlines the vulnerable file or line number so developers of the target app can timely rectify the loopholes. As for the attackers, Shieldfy is optimized to gather various details including their IP address, operating system, browsers, request profile, and the techniques they might have used.

The company currently provides its services using a SaaS (software-as-a-service) model. Depending on your requirement, a subscription can cost anywhere between $49 to $499 a month.

Shieldfy already has a number of clients in North America, parts of Europe, and the Middle East and North Africa. Led by Co-Founders Eslam Salem Mahmoud and Mahmoud Shawareb, Shieldfy aims to utilize the pre-seed funding to improve their offering so it becomes more accommodative to developers’ requirements.
