Less than a fortnight remains till Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) unleashes its week-long flagship mega-event to highlight the incredible feats achieved by Bahrain’s startup ecosystem over the past few years. Come March 3, StartUp Bahrain Week 2019 will kick off in full glory with an expected turnout of hundreds of entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, and government officials from around the world.

Held under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, Chairman of the Economic Development Board (EDB), StartUp Bahrain Week 2019 will comprise a series of inspirational events aimed at the startup community of the broader region.

StartUp Bahrain Week, by design, is an event that enables attendees to mingle and network with other like-minded individuals. It’s the perfect platform for anybody who wishes to learn about the thriving startup ecosystem in Bahrain and the rest of the Middle East.

This year, the mega-event is expected to attract more than 2,500 delegates. The week-long activities will see 20 renowned speakers taking the center stage, along with two exciting startup competitions. Some of the highlighting features of StartUp Week Bahrain 2019 include (but not limited to):

  • Unbound Bahrain: A global innovation festival that can be called the anchor event of StartUp Bahrain Week.
  • Unreasonable Thinking Summit: A two-day forum aimed to highlight the innovations and disruptions driving the Bahraini business community.
  • Flat6Labs Demo Day: Meet the startups in Flat6Labs latest cohort as they pitch on stage in front of an audience comprising investors, key government officials, and business leaders.
  • Bahrain Deep Tech Program: A three-day boot camp where experts from different walks of life will discuss and demonstrate how to turn ideas into commercially viable business models.

Other notable events include Flat6Labs demo day, Urban Experience (networking event), and StartUp Bahrain Ecosystem Tour.

Some of the prominent speakers to be addressing the attendees include world-renowned venture capitalist Tim Draper; Tenmou CEO Nawaf Alkooheji; Indian politician and writer Dr. Shashi Tharoor; BECO Capital CEO Amir Farha; and Head of Innovation at Zenith Media Tom Goodwin just to name a few.

Well, that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. StartUp Bahrain Week 2019 will be action-packed and missing out on it is not really an option if you are a budding entrepreneur or someone invested in the region’s startup ecosystem in emotional, intellectual, or financial level.
