Chinese telecom equipment company Huawei has bagged the distinctive honor of being the “Exclusive Digital Transformation Partner” of BITEX 2018. The company was handed over the award by none other than Kamal Ahmed, the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications in the Cabinet of Bahrain. As the exclusive “Digital Transformation Partner” of the Kingdom’s top Information and Communication Technology (ICT) event, Huawei made it to the center stage where it connected with top government officials and business leaders from across the region. The company took the opportunity to demonstrate its increasingly agile and sophisticated solutions that could one day define the future of smart cities in Bahrain and beyond.

The Bitex Management, accompanied by the CEO of Tamkeen Dr. Ebrahim Janahi, paid a visit to Huawei’s booth on day-1 of the event to have a firsthand look at the company’s homegrown solutions for smart cities, safe cities, agile network, cloud data centers, and smart hospitality.

“Huawei started its operations in Bahrain in 2004 and shifted its Middle East Regional office to Bahrain in 2009. As the Kingdom strengthens its position as an ICT hub, we are proud to contribute to building the infrastructure in Bahrain that is propelling the overall digital transformation throughout the Middle East,” Lu said while addressing the media.

The company also gave a sneak peek of how it plans on using ICT breakthroughs to sense, detect, analyze, and converge data from city management systems to offer intelligent and demand-driven solutions for governance, businesses, and livelihood of the general population.
