London based FinTech Humaniq created quite an impact in the Middle East as it made it to the top 3 in STEP Startup Contest – one of the world’s biggest startup contests.

Humaniq ICO raised over $5.1 million, and the app garnered a huge response from the play store as it witnessed around 100,000 downloads in 5 countries in just one quarter.

Humaniq is a London based FinTech Startup that offers financial services to poor and emerging economies via its Blockchain based mobile app. Humaniq aims to achieve global financial inclusion, so everyone has access to global markets, better opportunities and great financial solutions by using enhanced technology.

The StartUp Bahrain team along with some of the StartUp Bahrain community members joined the STEP conference amongst more than 5000 people and 200 startups where they witnessed the startup mentorship sessions, flagship pitch competition, and partner activations. Pakiza, Manager of the ICT/Startups sector at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) said, “We are committed to empowering the Startup ecosystem in Bahrain & further promote it in regional & international events. Along the team at EDB, members from Tamkeen, Flat6labs, C5 accelerate, Brinc and Nest VC joined forces to connect with innovative startups & VCs”.

Bahraini-based startup WNNA, was also exhibiting at the STEP conference this year. WNNA is an online platform powered by A.I, that offers users a seamless internet experience.
