The Women in FinTech Initiative Bahrain in partnership with INFINITI Bahrain held their first Ramadan Majlis in the Capital Club Bahrain. 60+ guests attended from various industries including community and ecosystem partners, VIPs within the financial landscape, and university students as well.

During the event, the Women in FinTech Bahrain Initiative launched their website which will be part of the Bahrain Economic Development Board website as new addition. The website will be the main platform for the initiative updates, and an outlet for women within the FinTech industry in Bahrain and the region to connect and take part.

The event started with a welcome note, and introduction on the FinTech landscape from Dalal Buhejji,  WIFBH Chair, and Senior Manager, Business Development – Financial Services at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB). In addition, committee members shared milestones achieved through the initiatives and KPIs for 2019. INFINITI Bahrain’s representative delivered a welcoming note, and expressed their keenness on supporting such events, and the importance of this initiative, and others for Bahrain’s ecosystem.

The Women in FinTech Initiative in Bahrain emerged as a consequence of the realisation by a group of women working in different roles in the financial sector that a platform was needed to empower and encourage more women to participate. Women in FinTech Bahrain (WIFBH) was formed in 2018 to serve and support women involved in the FinTech sector and to promote growth within the industry.

“Our first event was quite successful, and we were very pleased to see new faces that wanted to know more about the initiative. Our committee members were also present which gave the chance for us to explain our vision, and next steps for those that wanted to know more, and get involved. We also unveiled our webpage which will share all our upcoming events, and workshops. In addition, there’s a call to action for new members to join us so we can collaborate, and do much more. Excited for this journey, and what it will do for the growth of the fintech sector in Bahrain and beyond.” said Buhejji, Senior Manager, Business Development – Financial Services at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB).
