making a grand comeback on March 4, 2021. The three-day forum will take place on the sidelines of the fifth MITEF Saudi Startup Competition, which will be organized fully digitally this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Any startup, including non-Saudi startups, can participate in the forum to discuss and explores the opportunities provided by the Kingdom’s ever-growing market. Furthermore, participants will also be able to learn about potential investors while benefitting from the ideas and insights brainstormed at the StartSmart Conference (which is held alongside the forum).

In addition to the 27 teams that make it to the finals of the MITEF Saudi Startup Competition 5.0, the forum will be hosting 23 innovative startups from across the world that are interested in entering the Saudi market.

“Through the MITEF Saudi Startup Competition and many of our programs that support the entrepreneurship sector, we do believe in the role startups play in enhancing economic growth,” said Bayan Abdullah Alghamdi, Head of entrepreneurship programs & MITEF Saudi.

He added, “We are, thus, keen to work hand in hand with all public and private entities, such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Investment and the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha’at), to support the goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030 Vision and enhance the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the gross domestic product.”

As for the final results of the MITEF Saudi Startup Competition 2021, the winners will be declared on March 6, 2021.
