Bahrain has been picked as the host of choice for two major upcoming business and finance events including the 2019 renditions of the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum (WEIF) and the Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference (ABIC)

The ABIC, which is in its 18th year, will be organized by a collaboration of the Arab League, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), UN Industrial Development Organization, the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation, and the Union of Arab Chambers. The conference aims to serve as a pioneering force spearheading the Arab world’s leap into the fourth industrial revolution.

At the core of ABIC’s agenda is to attract global investors into the region’s burgeoning startup ecosystem. Along the way, it will cover the various factors in play behind the entrepreneurship culture in Arab countries including the challenges it faces, as well as the opportunities it presents.

The 18th edition of the conference is expected to draw more than 1,500 participants from across the world including business leaders, key officials from governments and regulatory bodies, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.

The other mega-event, WEIF 2019, meanwhile will be held under the theme of “Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals Through Entrepreneurship & Innovation.” Aside from that, the forum will also delve into the nitty-gritty of “Investing in the 4th Industrial Revolution in a Digital Economy.”

It will comprise a series of discussions and brainstorming sessions focused on the entrepreneurship culture and opportunities in developing nations in the Middle East and North Africa.
