Malaeb, a mobile app that lets football-fanatics find and book football fields in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Saudi has now launched in the UAE.

Last year Malaeb raised funds from a Saudi corporate venture capital firm established, Raed Ventures with the participation of Vision Ventures, Inspire Ventures, and 500 Startups. With the help of that funding, Malaeb was able to add more field to the app, grow their team and expand to further.

Yasser Abdulaziz, the Co-Founder, and COO of Malaeb told StartUp Bahrain why they chose to expand to the UAE. He said, “It was just a matter of waiting for the right moment when it comes to the maturity of the product and having a team that would ensure that users get an exceptional experience on the app. We believe we’re at a point where we can provide that but will also look to keep on improving and introducing new features”.

“We believe that the UAE will give us a good indication of how receptive the market beyond the region is to Malaeb and good learning points on how to target and reach these markets”, added Yasser.

Yasser expressed how challenging it was to expand since each market has different needs, preferences, and target audiences, so he believes that it is important to ensure research is conducted thoroughly as well as being open to changing and adapting to the different requirements needed by that market.

When we asked if he can share any exclusive information coming on the way for Malaeb, Yasser disclosed that Malaeb has an exciting project going on but he can’t tell us more than that just yet, so stick around to be the first to find out!
