Kuwait-based online coffee marketplace, COFE, has confirmed that it is gearing up to roll out services in the UK starting this year. More specifically, the company is eyeing the city of London to start this key strategic leap.

For those not familiar with the platform, COFE has been around since 2017 and has so far managed to establish itself as a unique channel that links coffee enthusiasts with a wide range of coffee shops.

Customers can use the COFE app to order their favorite coffee online and have it delivered right at the doorstep. Alternatively, customers can also choose to pick up their order themselves from the vendor.

The popularity of the platform can be gauged from its long list of partner vendors including local and international heavyweights such as Dose Coffee, Costa Coffee, McDonald’s McCafe. As of today, the company claims to process order volumes exceeding 10,000 a day.

COFE founder and CEO, Ali Al-Ebrahim, has reportedly approved the initial testing phase to start in London in Jan 2020. 38 vendors are already on board with the official launch scheduled in April.

As for the decision to pick London as COFE’s first major international expansion outside the Middle East, Al-Ebrahim says that Britain’s capital city is basically the gateway to the international market.

COFE’s vision to gain international recognition as a one-stop platform for coffee lovers gained a massive boost earlier in Feb 2019 after the startup received $3.2 million in funding from investors across the Middle East and Silicon Valley.
