Tachyon accelerator program, an initiative by ConsenSys Ventures, is now accepting applications for its forthcoming batch, scheduled to begin on Sep 15, 2018.

Named after a hypothetical particle travelling faster than the speed of light, the Tachyon accelerator is an eight-week long comprehensive program that aims to help early-stage projects speed their way into becoming viable MVPs

Tachyon is primarily focused on new technologies coming from the fast-expanding blockchain industry. As part of the initiative, ConsenSys Ventures will select 8 to 15 promising projects and allocate each of them anywhere between $75,000 to $100,000 in pre-seed funding. Technology startups interested to leverage this exciting opportunity can send in their applications by July 31.

The Tachyon program will mainly consist of a week-long technical Ethereum education, a weekly lecture series, and motivational speeches by dedicated mentors and industry insiders. On top of that, the participating startups will also have the chance to pitch at two demo days in Europe and San Francisco, with more locations to be added soon.

Kavita Gupta, the Managing Partner at ConsenSys Ventures, stated that one of the main agendas of Tachyon is to help participating startups combine the best of Web 2.0 technology with the new capabilities of decentralized Web 3.0 to bring forth new innovative technologies and solutions.

She added, “We created the Tachyon Accelerator to provide guidance, value, and resources to promising founders entering the blockchain ecosystem. We’re so excited to nurture the next wave of decentralized technology and elevate projects that will be crucial to growing the Ethereum ecosystem. Tachyon’s goal is to guide these early-stage ideas and help bring about successful execution by pairing founders with an all-star team of advisors.”
