Deliveroo has announced new financial support for all restaurant partners in the UAE. Under this new initiative, the company will be providing weekly payment services to enhance their cash flow in these challenging times against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

All restaurants within the Deliveroo ecosystem will be eligible for this scheme and the delivery giant will itself cover the increased banking charges applicable in cases involving rapid payments.

The financial support package will be available for the next three months at least. If needed, the company could further extend it.

As the ongoing lockdown has rendered restaurants across the region unable to offer dine-in services, the majority of them are currently turning to food delivery with the hope of sustaining their business.

That is, however, just one of the many new services Deliveroo has rolled out to help restaurants cope amid the coronavirus outbreak and the ensuing lockdown. The company is offering online marketing tools for restaurants so they can stay connected to target customers and even launched a micro-site to educate restaurant partners how to operate safely during the pandemic, among other initiatives.

Speaking about the new initiative, Anis Harb, General Manager of Deliveroo GCC, said: “At Deliveroo, we want to do everything possible to support our restaurant partners during this worrying period. We are here to deliver for restaurants who want to carry on offering their amazing food to families at home. This new rapid payment system will immediately improve the cash flow of thousands of restaurants and help them better manage their finances during these challenging times.”
