Egyptian e-commerce delivery and logistics startup R2S Logistics has announced it raised a six-figure investment from MENA-based investor, A15. The company, however, refrained from disclosing the exact amount of new capital inflow.

Launched in 2016 by founder Mahdi Al Olabi, R2S Logistics prides itself as a leading logistics platform that offers an array of delivery services including payments collection solutions, last-mile delivery, inventory management, fulfillment to e-commerce businesses, and returns and exchange management, among others.

Interestingly, R2S has achieved its current stature in the country’s delivery market without owning a single fleet. Instead, the startup collaborates with many different fleet owners to ensure timely and affordable delivery services to its customers. As of today, the startup has 11 hubs across Egypt.

The company also recently rolled out R2S Plus, which is basically an extensive network of partner retail stores that serves as pickup points for businesses and retail consumers to receive their packages. If all goes as per plan, R2S Plus will have more than 600 stores nationwide by Nov 2020.

Explaining the decision to invest in R2S, Fadi Antaki, CEO of A15, noted: “We believe that R2S is more than an e-commerce delivery partner. It is an enabler to online businesses in the ecosystem through its strong logistics experience, innovative tech, and strategic partnerships and recently launched Pick-Up and Drop-Off (PUDO) network.

Meanwhile, buoyed by the success of the latest funding round, R2S founder-CEO Mahdi Al Olabi said: “We are excited to have A15 as a strategic investor due to their domain expertise, operational excellence and track record in the e-commerce space as they invested in, venture-built, grew and exited e-commerce companies before. Hence, they can bring a lot of value to the table […].
