Huawei, the Chinese firm specializing in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions, kicked off its first roadshow in the Middle East this month.

The roadshow, under the theme of “Leading New ICT, The Road to Digital Transformation,” is meant to cross along six countries in the region before wrapping up on May 10, 2018.

Bahrain is one of the six countries through which the roadshow is passing, and Huawei has decided to put the spotlight on advanced ICT technologies in the Bahrain chapter of the roadshow. This is to reflect the Kingdom’s fast booming technology sector and how the progress in its homegrown ICT industry has paved the way for a radical and all-encompassing digital transformation.

“ICT leaders across a number of key verticals in Bahrain including the Government sector, transportation, education, oil and gas, finance and manufacturing attended the roadshow that included several keynotes, a solution exhibition and technology workshops covering campus networks, data centers and cloud communication solutions by regional Huawei experts,” read a the statement by the Chinese company.

This is the first time the roadshow has been held in this part of the world and it has brought together Huawei experts who are sharing their knowledge and years of experience with the local ICT community.

Speaking of the significance of the roadshow and its impact on the regional ICT industry, John Lu Yuedong, CEO of Huawei Bahrain, said: “Developing digital strategies has become a core priority for countries in the Middle East with Bahrain as one of the leaders in implementing core digitalization initiatives.”
