It seems like the sixth edition of Mashroo3i Youth Business Competition has drawn a remarkable number of applications. According to the latest data provided by Tamkeen Bahrain, more than 185 teams registered for the event, of which, only 132 were selected.

Mashroo3i is a comprehensive program designed to enable young entrepreneurs to turn their business idea into successful real-life projects.

“Through this national initiative, we aim to continuously encourage, guide and support future Bahraini Entrepreneurs ensuring they are provided with the fundamental skills, knowledge, and tools to strengthen the holistic entrepreneurial culture within the Kingdom of Bahrain,” said Tamkeen CE Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, as he went on explaining the objective behind the event.

The massive rise in the number of applications received by Tamkeen is another testimony to the fact that the Bahraini entrepreneurial ecosystem is growing at a faster-than-ever pace.

The teams selected thus far will meet in Mashroo3i induction meeting to discuss the forthcoming stages of the program. Among other things, they will also be given a chance to network with Mashroo3i mentors, trainers, as well as other competing teams during this phase.

The Orientation Training sessions will soon follow and continue through March and April 2020. The shortlisted teams from thereon will be given a chance to pitch their business ideas to Mashroo3i’s twelve mentors.

At this stage, 60 teams will be shortlisted for the Business Feasibility Phase. All these 60 teams, with the help of Mashroo3i mentors, will conduct a feasibility study of their business plan before pitching once again to the judges.

Based on their performance, 30 teams will be selected for the next phase where the participants will be required to build a business prototype and pitch it to investors. In the final stage, only 20 handpicked teams will have the opportunity to demonstrate their prototypes at the Mashroo3i public exhibition.
