MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) announced earlier this week the opening of the application process for its flagship Arab Startup Competition (ASC).

Lauded as one of the longest-running startup events targeted at the startup ecosystem in the Middle East & North Africa, MITEF is open to entrepreneurs across industries and sectors so long as they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Even businesses based out of a non-Arab country can apply to be a part of the competition provided they have an active presence in at least one country in the region.

As always, there will be three separate tracks including the Startups Track, Ideas Track, and Social Entrepreneurship Track. Each participant is allowed to take part in only one track of their choosing.

Age is not a bar as entrepreneurs from all age-groups can send their applications using the official MITEF ASC portal. To be eligible for participation in the Startup Track, however, the applicant must have sales, as well as a database for user traction.

MITEF has announced a cumulative cash prize of $160,000 across all three tracks. All participants who qualify for the semi-finals will require undergoing a preparatory boot camp encompassing mentorship and coaching, training sessions, and workshops.

A panel of judges will then handpick three participants from each track as the final winners.

So if you think you, as a budding entrepreneur, has what it takes to shine in this mega pan-MENA event, make sure to send your application by Dec 10, 2019.

While participants are expected to pay for their air tickets, all other expenses including accommodation and transportation will be provided by the MIT Enterprise Forum (for up to two team members per team).
