The big day finally arrived earlier this week as Gitex Future Stars kicked off on a high note on Oct 14, 2018. As one of the biggest and most exciting technology events in the region, Gitex attracts huge masses of participants and attendees that include more than 700 innovators and entrepreneurs representing no less than 19 different sectors. The event also boasts of hosting some of the most prolific investors, incubators, and accelerators including multinational giants such as Amazon Venture Fund, Draper Associates, IFC-World Bank Group, IDG Ventures, European Business Angel Network, and so on.

Three days into the event this year and we have already witnessed some really promising technologies across sectors. In fact, it is next to impossible to accurately depict the scope of all the innovations in the display using mere text. You have to be there to experience it!

From iB Cricket and AI-powered systems to sophisticated satellite technology for aiding the farming sector and robotic lunar rovers — the event is practically a hangout place for all potential life-changing technologies. Francisco Salcedo, SVP, Etisalat Digital, echoed the general vibe of excitement and curiosity that permeates the air surrounding the  Dubai World Trade Center where the event is being held.

“The future is taking shape from our actions today, and we believe that the best way forward is to collaborate and innovate in the way we work with our partners and clients. ‘Future Now’ by Etisalat Digital will open doors for these collaborations to happen, and with Etisalat’s infrastructure and wide reach, we are committed to supporting innovators to bring their disruptive technologies to reality.”

Gitex Future Stars still has one more day to go before it wraps up on Oct 17, 2018. So stay tuned as StartupBahrain brings you more news and updates on this mega event.
