The King Abdullah Center for Petroleum Research and Studies, an institution renowned for academic excellence, has recently conducted “Launch Your Project”, a series of 15 workshops to boost entrepreneurial spirit in Saudi Arabia. These workshops drew around 8,800 visitors.

The event was a key part of the government’s ongoing National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020 and is expected to contribute to the country’s Vision 2030 objectives. The workshops aimed to develop and empower emerging entrepreneurs in the country to kick start their own projects, which can drive economic development.

The workshops focused on four key areas including:

  • Promising economies
  • Innovation
  • Leadership
  • Competitiveness

According to Itidal Al-Najim, General Supervisor of Launch Your Project, the event was about giving entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their innovations, especially the ones that are driven by high-end technologies such artificial intelligence (AI).

Al-Najim also expressed that Launch Your Project will emerge as a trusted platform, and the first stop for anyone in Saudi looking to launch a startup.

The event had multiple panel discussions that saw experts offering consultation and recommendations to startups, and those looking to start their own SMEs.
