One of the most exciting events in the startup community in Bahrain starts today! The annual edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week launches again to promote entrepreneurship and celebrate personal initiative among local youth.

The organizing committee led by Tamkeen and more than 20 partnering entities will mark the 10th anniversary of the prestigious annual happening accordingly. Tamkeen brings together more than 30 events and expects to attract over 1500 visitors. Local entrepreneurs, GCC guests, and international visitors will benefit from a wide range of activities, including workshops, lectures, discussion sessions, and competitions.

The GEW celebrations in Manama will also feature international keynote speakers, industry insiders, and venture capitalists to share their insights with the local like-minded audience.

The event starts on November 11 with a workshop by one of the most recognizable faces on the startup scene in Bahrain—Ehsan Al-Kooheji. The founder and CEO of Kooheji Systems has more than ten years of experience in ICT, telecommunications, branding, and advertising. He will share useful insights on how to bring your business online and how to your online presence successfully. The Internet is everything these days, do not miss his lecture!

The Social Innovation workshop follows on Sunday. It takes place at Mercure Hotel in Manama. Its primary goal is to increase participants’ knowledge in design thinking and social innovation. It will present practical ideas how to develop a social-oriented startup project using design thinking process and tools.

The program goes on with the Startup Evening organized by startup MGZN. Some of the most prominent members of Bahrain’s startup community will share their thoughts on what it takes to be an entrepreneur. They will try to answer the question whether you were born entrepreneur or you became one in time.

Established in 2008, Global Entrepreneurship Week is the most significant celebration of innovators, tech experts, entrepreneurs, and economists who work together to ensure economic growth and job creation. More than 160 countries worldwide join the initiative each November. They host numerous events and organize diverse activities to bring together investors, young entrepreneurs, and established businessmen. The Global Entrepreneurship Network is the mastermind behind the initiative, powered by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. As the local celebrations in Bahrain continue until November 20, stay tuned with us not to miss anything important!
