Seedstars World, the leading global platform for seed-stage startups, hosted the Riyadh chapter of its flagship startup competition at AstroLabs last month. The competition, held in collaboration with Badir, handpicked 10 of the most promising startups in the country who pitched their businesses to a panel of experts on Sep 27.

Winners were picked based on the merit of the innovative sustainable solution they pitched to address challenges facing different industries and walks of life.

Quantum Targeted Sampling topped the charts by demonstrating its sophisticated data-driven sampling platform that promises to fully and efficiently digitize the sampling industry while simultaneously adding to its accuracy.

Vetwork, an e-commerce platform that touts itself as a one-stop marketplace for affordable and convenient petcare services, came in second place. The third place was held by SaNoor, a tech startup that specializes in a high-speed laser transceiver based LiFi system that significantly expedites data communications between underwater devices.

Other finalists to have participated in the iconic pitch competition include (in no particular order) Grintafy Info Tech, Helper Robot, Mosawir, Tammwel, Scientific Saudi, MayaClinic, and Passioneurs.

The winners of the competition will now get a chance to participate in the Seedstars Global Summit, an annual event hosted by Switzerland. In the global rendition of the competition, these three Saudi startups will now have a shot at winning a cash price of $500k, as well as various other perks.

Mira Charkawi, Community Events Manager, at Seedstars World, commented on the Riyadh chapter of the competition by saying: “We are very excited to be once again in Riyadh! We’re aware that Saudi Arabia is a booming ecosystem full of top-notch startups. We are looking forward to taking the winner with us to Regional Summit in Morocco!”
